Signs your hybrid battery is failing.

A hybrid pack rarely dies all at once. One weak module drags the rest down, and the car tells you in a few predictable ways.

  1. 01A warning light and a battery code Toyota and Lexus show P0A80. Honda shows the IMA light, often with P1449.
  2. 02The charge gauge jumps aroundIt swings from full to nearly empty in minutes instead of moving slowly.
  3. 03The engine never restsIt runs at stop lights and low speed, and fuel economy drops by 5 to 10 mpg or more.
  4. 04Weak or jerky accelerationThe electric assist fades on hills and highway merges, or the car shudders when the engine kicks in.

New, rebuilt or used. Know what you are buying.

Many "replacement" hybrid batteries are reconditioned packs or modules pulled from salvage cars. Ours are not.

From the people who installed one.

Real reviews from owners, unedited apart from length. Most did the swap themselves in their own garage.

Questions, answered.

Are these really brand new?

Yes. Every cell and module is new and has never been in a vehicle. We do not sell rebuilt, refurbished or used batteries.

Which shipping option should I pick?

Free shipping with duties included takes about 30 days on average and there is nothing to pay at the door. Express costs $150 and takes about 5 days, and the carrier collects import duties of about $100 to $200 when it delivers.

Can I install it myself?

Many customers do, in about an afternoon. You will need insulated high-voltage gloves and basic hand tools. Any hybrid-savvy shop can also install it.

How long does a hybrid battery last?

Factory packs usually last 8 to 15 years. When the first module fails, the others are rarely far behind, which is why we replace every module with new cells rather than patching one.

Will this clear code P0A80 or the IMA light?

If the code comes from weak battery modules, yes. After installing, clear the codes with a scan tool or by disconnecting the 12 V battery. If a code returns, email us the readings and we will help find the cause.

Do I need to program anything?

No coding is needed. You keep your car's own battery computer, so Toyota, Lexus, Ford and Chevrolet owners just reconnect, clear the codes and drive. Honda IMA cars may need the battery charge level reset with a scan tool after the swap.

What tools do I need?

Basic metric sockets and screwdrivers, a torque wrench, and insulated high-voltage gloves. Our manual walks through every step with photos.

Do I need to send my old battery back?

No. There is no core charge. Please recycle your old modules responsibly.

What does the warranty cover?

3 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, against block voltage error codes. You can extend it to 5 years for $800 when you order. Installation, labour and shipping are not covered.

Only one module has failed. Can I buy just one?

Yes. Single modules are $154 each, with shipping at $150 for up to 6 modules.

My car is not listed. Can you still help?

Possibly. Email us your make, model and year and we will check.

Your car has more miles in it.
