Much easier than having to balance the modules
I have owned my 05 prius for 10 years (210,000 miles) and have had to replace and rebalance the modules 4 times over the course of owning it. Sure replacing a few modules is quite a bit cheaper but it's also a total pain in the ass and usually takes me 1 - 2 weeks. Plus the modules are always used and I am lucky if I get 10K miles before the next issue. This time I decided to go with the new batteries. No balancing needed. Just swap everything out and it works. Instructions were simple to follow. I have put 5k miles on the car since the install and everything has been running great. (Still gets 48mpg) If you have the money and want better piece of mind, go with these batteries.

New vs Remanufactured
New batteries make so much more sense than used or rejuvenated used packs. The failure rates on used packs is too high for our hybrid shop to consider anymore. Once we found "New Prius Batteries.com" that is all we are recommending for our customers. The replacement is pretty straight forward however; the instructions are pretty detailed. Only the experienced technician with many rebuilds can perform this task in under 5 hrs. Read the instructions carefully and completely. These are dynamite!
Thanks for engineering these new cells. I installed the new cells a month ago and my 2006 Prius with 185,000 miles has been feeling healthy. I've been replacing and rebalancing the Panasonic modules since 2014. They would last for 1-2 years and I was saving money but spending a lot of time doing it. The design of these new cells are user-friendly and makes reassembling the pack straightforward and fairly foolproof. I don't think people have to be too scared to try this on their own. You're doing quite a service to make these available. Thank you!

This is amazing! The package was shipped in a very timely manner. And the items are very well packaged and secured. Following the detailed instructions that was sent via email are simple and well illustrated. It took a whole day for me to replace as I took my time. But overall, this is a great alternative than buying a brand new from the dealership. It’s been a day since I installed the batteries and so far so good. The car feels peppier and no more warning lights. I am glad to get my Prius back to running condition.

Gen 2 Prius Battery
The product is great. Really brought the life back into our Prius with 171,000 miles. The one thing I would recommend is that the reassembly instructions don’t mention where the original air dams should go when you build the battery back up. Or even if they are needed.

New Prius Batteries
I just installed these batteries last week and have been driving the car ever since with no issues at all. The batteries arrived in just a few days and the installation was fairly simple. I would highly recommend this route for battery replacement as these are the only reasonably priced NEW batteries out there. OEM is too difficult to find and too costly. Signs your hybrid battery is failing.

A hybrid pack rarely dies all at once. One weak module drags the rest down, and the car tells you in a few predictable ways.

Are these really brand new?

Yes. Every cell and module is new and has never been in a vehicle. We do not sell rebuilt, refurbished or used batteries.

Which shipping option should I pick?

Free shipping with duties included takes about 30 days on average and there is nothing to pay at the door. Express costs $150 and takes about 5 days, and the carrier collects import duties of about $100 to $200 when it delivers.

Can I install it myself?

Many customers do, in about an afternoon. You will need insulated high-voltage gloves and basic hand tools. Any hybrid-savvy shop can also install it.

Do I need to send my old battery back?

No. There is no core charge. Please recycle your old modules responsibly.

What does the warranty cover?

Description

A complete, brand-new hybrid battery for your Toyota Prius (2004 to 2009). Every cell is new NiMH with zero miles. Not refurbished, not rebuilt, and not pulled from a wrecked car.

Built stronger than the original

  • 14 new cylindrical NiMH modules (14.4 V each, 201.6 V total). Your original pack uses 28 small modules, so there are half as many connections to work loose.
  • Numbered and matched. Modules are tested, matched and numbered before they ship, so they go back in the right order and wear evenly.

When to replace your Toyota Prius battery

  • The red triangle warning is on and the car stores code P0A80 (replace hybrid battery pack)
  • The battery gauge swings quickly between full and empty
  • The engine runs far more than it used to and fuel economy drops

Hybrid batteries usually fail one weak module at a time. Once one goes, the rest are close behind, so replacing the whole pack with new cells is the fix that lasts.

Why new instead of rebuilt or used

  • Brand new, zero miles. Rebuilt packs reuse old modules that are already ageing. Used packs come out of wrecked or high-mileage cars. Ours are new cells, so the whole pack starts its life the day you install it.
  • Keep your car's own electronics. You reuse your original battery case, battery computer, fans and wiring junction, parts you know have not been abused, instead of trusting a pack that came out of a junkyard car.
  • No core charge. Keep or recycle your old modules.

    My 2005 Prius died. Not sure what to do on battery replacement..... The dealer & auto parts stores only sold refurbished battery's. I thought on the life expectancy of doing that. (used battery's) Since the drive battery is the "Heart beat" of the Prius. After extensive research I found New Prius Battery website. After corresponding with them it was a better deal in more ways then one. I installed the battery pack. Very easy installation. The car started right up, fuel economy much improved !! Over six thousand miles now on long trips and no issues. Its like when I bought it new. Save time and money ,,,,,do the job right...

    05 Prius Battery Kit - California

    Ordered the kit for my 05 Prius with 250000 miles and received it less than a week period. Good email communication from the seller with attached installation manual. The Packaging was well made so no damage to the kit. Only thing missing were mounting screws to the metal casting but ended up using my old ones so not really was an issue. The installation was straight forward but may be little confusing if you are not familiar with these system. All and all everything worked as it should but a little tweak was needed to attach the orange safety disconnect cables. Now the car is running really smooth. Hopefully it will last me at least another 5 years....only the time will tell.

    easy to install, fast turn around... would recommend to anyone! installed in 2005 Prius (which I bought new), from day one my average mileage was 46-47mpg, since replacing with this new kit, i have been getting 53-54mpg!!! Customer service is also great, had a question and they responded right away! THANKS!!!
